What I’m Thankful For

Thankfulness and gratitude go hand in hand. The definition of thankful is someone feeling or showing gratitude. When you are pleased and grateful for what you have, this is an example of a time when you are thankful. Gratitude produces a more meaningful life. When it comes to life meaning, nothing compares to living a life of gratitude. When you are truly grateful, you find yourself living with greater purpose and passion. Being grateful will give you meaning because it allows you to capture the full essence of every moment.

One of the top things I am most thankful and grateful for is my home. In light of all the destruction and homelessness the fires of California have created, I appreciate my home all the more. The simple knowledge that I could be wiped out in an instant is a humbling experience. My home is my refuge and I am very grateful for the comfort it provides.

I’m most thankful for the steadfast love of my family: a devoted husband, the love of my children and grandchildren, the love of my dedicated sister (she’s my #1 fan!) and an even closer-knit extended family after the passing of my parents.

I’m thankful for my friends. Good friends become more valuable the older I get. Friends are those special people in your life who support you, uplift you, are non-judgmental, comfort you and bring joy to your very soul.

I’m thankful for my good health. As long as I can continue to walk, hike, swim, putter and get down on my hands and knees to play with my grandkids, I’m golden.

I’m thankful for my dog. Now that’s true love!

Lastly, which should be first, I am thankful for my belief in God and His mutual belief in me. I would be nothing without the kindness and guidance of a supreme being who watches over me from up above. I am grateful to  Him each and every night for all the mighty, powerful blessing He has bestowed upon me and my family.

  1. Great post! And what a darling picture of you and your pup. Not sure who is cuter. You look really pretty. Shorter hair? Happy Thanksgiving, Cindi!
