Some Changes To Our Retirement

I edited the front top page of my blog. I inserted a statement that better explains our future retirement plans and goals: When Retirement Just Doesn’t Quite Turn Out Like You Planned.  There are many, many senior people out there, who through no fault of their own (work related or health issues) find themselves retired and scratching their heads because they don’t know what to do. I can offer some guidance on all of that.

I’ve also written a new ‘About’ page. You can check that out by clicking here. I think up until I made these adjustments and verbally announced them, perhaps many didn’t know what I was writing about. Maybe I sounded like I was going off in all different directions. I thought it best to concentrate, focus and really write about what is going on in our lives.

Honesty is always the best policy.

And away we go!

    • Hi Sharon. I’ll be spending February with my sister down in Sarasota. Already making plans for next year. We’re hoping on Key West.
Yup snow on the way here this weekend too. Not looking forward to it at all.
      Stay warm.

  1. The only thing that is a given is: change is inevitable and being strong and smart enough to recognize-it, adapt and Persevere ( my word for 2019) will always be the case. Believing you have the abilities to handle what comes your way and find solutions to get through hard times is important to maintain your joy.
IMHO, I hope you can embrace the happy moments happening in each day and enjoy the present. Maybe start by forgiving and forgetting the past trials and living in the now. You let a lot of the greatness and joy of being with Nick both retired, today, right Now, slip away by bemoaning you are not in Florida till February. Sincerely, Lara

    • Hi Lara. I gave a lot of thought to whether I was going to divulge and talk about Nick’s health OR just pretend its not happening and continue on my merry way. Most people don’t want to hear or read about this BUT I know it is happening to a lot of people. Especially women of retired couples. So, maybe it’s good.
One thing I know for sure is that I am NOT living my authentic life and I don’t like that at all!
As we are preparing for a big winter storm approaching later on this early evening, you can bet your bottom dollar I’m seething because we would both have been sitting on the beach right now. I’m not going to enjoy seeing Nick struggle with shovels and snow blowers etc. etc. I thought we were both beyond this but alas, no. I think he forgot how hard this winter life up north can be. Well, he’s getting a quick reminder now.
I don’t know where we are going to wind up. Florida was a complete and utter failure. But there’s a place for us. Warmer and more conducive to the lifestyle we need. I’ll find it! Just going to take some time.

    • I’m not living to my full potential. It’s been bothering me lately. There are things I want to do, to go and I’m not doing it. I’ll figure it out. Time to dream new dreams. Make new plans.

    • Lara, I hear you loud and clear. It’s time for change. It’s time to shake it up. It’s time for me to get back up and keep pursuing my dreams and my goals. I had a little setback, but that’s all it was. A setback. Time to keep moving forward and never giving up.
