How The Fab Four Are Helping Me Lose Weight

COVERPICNope. I don’t mean The Beatles when I talk about ‘The Fab Four’. What I mean is the ‘discovery’ Kelly Leveque, a certified holistic nutritionist, wellness expert, and health coach (who has worked extensively in the medical profession) made as to the secret to lifelong weight control. It’s not a diet. It’s mastering a sustainable lifestyle that enables you to: Live In Balance, Weigh What You Want and Free Yourself From Food Drama Forever.

Yes, please.

Kelley’s ‘secret’ is by combining The Fab Four (protein, fat, fiber and greens) all in to one meal. By doing so, your cravings will diminish, as will your belly fat (guilty!) By keeping your blood sugar in tow, all day long, you will feel better, look better, eliminate those pesky mood swings, lose weight, lose fat, increase lean muscle mass and drop at least one dress size.

Sounds like a lot of promises, doesn’t it? Well, I started on Kelly’s program at least six weeks ago and I am happy to state that when I went to my latest doctors appointment (this past Tuesday) I dropped 17 pounds since my last visit. I still have a long way to go just to get back to my regular weight (before I packed on all these 37 pounds!) but at least I am on my way. I found Kelly Leveque’s food plan (click here for menu ideas) completely logical to me and it has been very easy to follow her Fab Four meal plans. It’s now become a way of life for me. And I don’t think I will ever go back to the bad eating habits I used to have.

010416_cauliflower_riceIt’s no secret that by eliminating carbs (rice, pasta, bread) and increasing veggies (spinach, broccoli, kale), low-carb fruits (berries), increasing good fats (avocados, almond butter) and including protein (chicken, fish, eggs, beef) into every meal, the combination does have a positive impact on both your health and weight. This is NOT the Keto diet. I read all the food labels and I do include carbs into my daily diet. But when you realize that a cup of pasta has 40 grams of carbs and a cup of cauliflower has only 5 grams, you start making better choices in your eating plans. Aldi just starting selling pizza made with a cauliflower crust and its delish! I’ve been making Sunday pancakes using almond and coconut flours, both super low in carbs. They’re amazing!

I’m not going to lecture you on anything. Losing weight and getting healthy is a personal thing. You have to find what works best for you and stick to it. I don’t want to be on a diet. I wanted a complete change in my lifestyle. I didn’t like the way my health was going. I was seriously overweight without a clue on how to get my life back in order and on track. Yes, Kelly Leveque is a super nutritionist to the celebrities, but in all honesty, aren’t we all celebrities in our own right? I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. Now? I’m super charged, super energized and looking forward to living my best years yet!

I purchased Kelly’s book, Body Love, rather than rent it out from my local library. Her book is the kind you keep forever and refer to every day. Lots of advice and medical hints as to why her Fab Four plan works flawlessly. Lots of recipes too. You can read a few chapters for free by clicking here. You can buy Kelly’s book on Amazon by clicking here. As always, I get absolutely no money from any of this. Just my plain, honest review: it works!

Here’s my morning (or lunch) smoothie. I drink this around 8AM. I don’t feel any hunger till 3:30 in the afternoon! Click on each photo to get recipe and ideas. Don’t let the green color throw you. This smoothie contains all The Fab Four ingredients and is delicious!

I drink this all day long when thirsty. Plain filtered tap water with a slice of Meyer lemon (any lemon, orange or citrus slice will do) Delish!

Here’s a sampling of either my lunches or dinners. Click on any photo for a list of ingredients. Please note: I bought ALL ingredients (including the fresh salmon!) at Aldi. NO EXCUSES. Read your labels. There are tons of low carb choices sitting on your grocer shelves right now. Low carb. High protein. Throw in some greens and a dash of fat!

A typical salad: greens, cheeses, avocado, grilled chicken, sliced egg. Top with creamy, full fat dressings, such as Caesar or Blue Cheese. You get the idea.

  1. The food looks absolutely wonderful! Now I am hungry. I recently went on a low fat diet to try to lower my cholesterol. I have 4 months to get it down, or I have to go on medication (which I am trying to avoid). Thanks for the information!

  2. YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!! Congratulations, you’re doing awesome! That’s how Mr. cooks most meals, and it does work. We don’t follow her diet, but we just make those choices. I’m still guilty of my Tostitos and a beer or two here and there, but I’m not a sweets person, so it’s easy to avoid too many carbs from those. I’m so excited to see it is a lifestyle change for you. Your post is very helpful too!

      • Vodka has 0 (zero) carbs! Yay! Here’s a list:
Tequila, Gin, Vodka, Whiskey—on the rocks, neat, with a diet soda or seltzer: 0 grams of carbs per shot.
Red Wine—Merlot, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah all have under 4 carbs per 5 oz glass.
Cosmos are vodka, triple sec, a bit of 100% cranberry juice and a slice of lime with its juice. Delish.
