The artist, TLC, once sang a song about chasing waterfalls. The group advised against it:
Don’t go chasing waterfalls
Please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you’re used to
I know that you’re gonna have it your way or nothing at all
But I think you’re moving too fast
DH and I went for one of our favorite walks, through the free gardens of The Vanderbilt Estate in Hyde Park, NY (click here
). As we were walking through the garden, I heard the constant sound of rushing water. There was a path just outside the Rose Garden that seemed to parallel the sound of the water. “Let’s go there
“, I pointed as I asked my husband. We made our way down a sloping path as we headed towards the vibrations.
And this is what we saw:
And this is what we heard:
For over 17 years, DH and I have been coming to these majestic grounds and never once did we know there were hidden waterfalls just outside the Vanderbilt Gardens. We always turned left after we exited the Rose Garden. This time, we turned right and took a two mile walk along a pathway hosting spectacular waterfalls.
Sometimes it’s good to go chasing waterfalls.
