Two Year Blog Anniversary.

I started this particular blog two years ago, September 15, 2017 (click here for that first blog entry). It wasn’t my first blog. I have been writing blogs since 2007. ‘Diary Of A Mad Retiree‘ however, is different from any of my other blogs. I started ‘Diary‘ because I was mostly done with the materialistic world and I wanted to live a different way.  Done with envy, jealousy, power and hate; tired of the day to day struggle and routine that resulted in nothing more than a constant spin on a golden hamster wheel. That’s not what I wanted in my life. And I am assuming you, dear reader, don’t want that either. By starting this particular blog, I was able to record how I lived out my retirement years.

We live in very violent times. I realized my life was coming to an end and I didn’t want to spend it wasting my time on foolish human emotions. I wanted to create my own heaven on earth because realistically, what if this life on this planet earth really is all that there is?

Along the way, this blog has brought together over 305 Followers (and rising) as well as several hundred email subscribers. That’s not to be taken lightly. Obviously there are people out there who share the same ideals that I do, are interested in what I have to say, what I experience and how I manage to keep on living successfully despite it all. I want to say ‘Thank You‘ to each and every one of you. I am touched deeply by your interest and your loyalty.

This blog will never be deleted. Unless changes in software and internet usage morphs into another system that we know nothing about right at this moment. Whatever the future outcome, I trust my words will carry on into the atmosphere long after I am gone.

Invent yourself. And then reinvent yourself. Never accept mediocrity. Change so often that ‘they’ can never categorize you. It is your life. Its history and present belong only to you.

Thank you so much for being here with me!

  1. Happy blogiversity! I enjoy your posts and perspectives and am glad to have stumbled upon you!
I entered the blog world when my daughter started a blog in 2nd grade… she is in high school now! Over the years we have had many blogs together and separately. I am thinking of putting fingers to keyboard soon to resurrect http://www.healthfulsaver,
The great thing about blogging is being able to talk about topics that you may not have friends “IRL” who share your interests, or you wish to keep things private, such as finances.

  2. Happy Blog-versary!! I agree with you wholeheartedly. When I gave up trying to keep up with the Joneses, my life improved dramatically. Now I’m focused on living below my means so I can get rid of all my debt and prepare for retirement. Your blog inspires me. Please keep writing!

  6. I also enjoy your posts and perspective. It gets me thinking and certainly helps me “get ready” for the near future and face reality. Thanks for keeping it real and sharing all the financial info, shopping and enjoying what our local areas can offer in the way of entertainment. Its our lives, not on TV, Cable, Daily Mail or the movies

    • Hi Janet. Exactly. I don’t know why people have great difficulty telling it like it is. We all have our good days and we all have our bad days. Some of us did well. Some of us didn’t do so well. People don’t like to address the latter. I’m here to say it’ll be fine. We’ll get through it.
Thanks for your kind words and for your comment. 🙂
