Classic Weekend Plans In Retirement

A few of our friends came in from California this weekend (for a wedding we weren’t invited to!) and we met them for dinner on Halloween night! Usually, DH and I stay in on ‘Fright Night’ but this time, it was great to get out and join in all the ‘Trick or Treating’ fun.

DH and I got to the restaurant early and I started doing what I do best: drink Cosmopolitans. DH had a single beer.

Guess who? Our bartender!

Please note that these photos are the first I am taking with my new iPhone 11 Pro. I have no idea what I am doing but I am learning. The new three lens camera supposedly takes super duper portraits. Here’s a great shot of hubby but unfortunately, Mr. Wonderful has, as always, a sour puss on his face. Geeze, this friggin’ guy NEVER smiles. Unless there is food placed in front of him. Anyway, it’s two great, first-time shots:

Is this the meanest face ever? Don’t mess with this dude. You’ve been warned! LOL!

A bit of a smile here (yet slightly out of focus). He probably heard the waiter go by with his food.

Today is Sunday and the first cold Sunday at that! Temps hovering in the upper 30’sF degrees. Usually what hubs and I do when the weather gets like this is cook! I made a big pot of butternut squash soup and a vegetable quiche (I used up all the leftover veggies from my restaurant meal out on Thursday!) Hubby made a great big giant pot of sauce, tons of Italian meatballs and sausage cooked in a marinara sauce. We skipped the pasta this Sunday because we’re sort of on the Keto diet (and we had bowtie pasta on Saturday)

  1. You take such great food pics. Perhaps a cookbook is in your future? P.S. Let me know what you think of the 11 Pro. I’m trying to decide whether to get the 11 or 11 pro.

    • Get the 11 Pro. The 3 lenses really make a difference. I am in love with my new iPhone. I feel so blessed and so lucky. I very rarely ever get the latest and the greatest when it first comes out. I’m getting Nick the iWatch for Xmas. He NEEDS the heart monitoring feature!!! What a fabulous invention!
